      The Department of Mechatronics Engineering was established in 1969 in response to the nation's need for mechatronics and automation development for the goal of mechatronics domain. Our Department will provide the students with more scientific and practical based knowledge, and to cultivate the students in the technology and engineering. We offer five-year upper secondary school, junior college and senior college vocational programs, along with a night school.

      

      Our objective is to contribute to the nation’s mechatronics progress and development through technical education by giving instruction in the fundamentals and practical skills of mechatronics engineering, and cultivating an awareness of relevant rules and regulations, professional ethics, and the spirit of technology.

    

     The Department of Mechatronics Engineering provides an integrated education encompassing electrical, mechanical, control and computer engineering disciplines which enables its graduates to acquire the needed skills in facing the challenges of contemporary industry. The curricula for this program are developed to give the students thorough knowledge in control and instrumentation, robotics and automation, mechatronics systems design and mechatronics product development. There are well-equipped laboratories and software packages to enhance the teaching of courses in this exciting and innovative engineering discipline.

      The main objective of the Mechatronics Department is to provide an integrated education encompassing electrical,  mechanical, control and computer engineering disciplines which enables its graduates to acquire the needed skills in analyzing and designing complex mechatronic systems containing hardware and software components and facing the challenges of contemporary industry.

         

1.  To train students as engineering professionals, in order to promote the engineering domain for automation development.

2.  To provide students with an overview of engineering background, and the knowledge and skills necessary for engineering analysis and design.

3.  Precision machining and electrical devices application skills are emphasized.

4.  We hope to combine the oretical and practical elements of instruction to maximize the effectiveness of our instructional technology.

5.  To provide students with the best possible education to enable them to become morally wise and knowledgeable leaders in the future.

6.  To furnish students with a solid engineering education to equip them to think clearly, logically and originally when they design   creative solutions for challenging problems.

7.  To develop analytical skills and to expand horizon beyond traditional engineering realms.

8.  To allow students to have hands-on experiences in the creative process of design and synthesis by integrating theoretical knowledge and practical applications.

9.  To foster a stimulating academic environment for high quality research and development.

      We are able to take advantage of the proximity of the Hsinchu Scientific Industrial Park and the Hsinchu Industrial Park, which provide a rich context for educational and job opportunities for our graduates.

     

      The Mechatronics Engineering Department offers exceptional training in two major areas of focus:

1. Automation skills

2. Precision machining skills

 

      These special areas of expertise are made possible by our selection of qualified faculty and by the availability of well equipped labs in these two areas.
